Blog # 16 Vision Quest 2 253

Aaniin,

March 26, 2014 was the opening of my 2nd showing. This was a group show celebrating the 5th anniversary of the Collective. The theme was 253, covering pretty much the entire pierce county area.

Most of the images were of the 66th Annual Golden Gloves held at the Tacoma Armory at 11th and Yakima. I got some great portraits there like Leo Randolph, the Olympic Gold Medalist and Stan the Man, the reason behind why we have AAA baseball in Tacoma. This Golden Gloves was my first and Stan’s 64th. Mr. Mac was also at ringside.  My favorite portrait was of River, the girl that won the first jacket.

I had 18 images but, only 12 frames so I will have to rotate the photos.
The evening ended with the Duchess and her Art Bus, filling the gallery to capacity and some very appreciated sales.

For Vision Quest 1, Maiden Voyage, I closed with the Herbie Handcock song  but for this show I close with the Michael Buble` cover of the Nina Simone hit Feeling Good”.

Blog # 15 Saturday at the 253 Collective

Aaniin ,

I recently joined the 253 COLLECTIVE in DownTown Tacoma and part of the responsibilities is working a Saturday every month. When I worked the 15th of March, 2014 a patron walked thru and saw my image and seemed curious so I asked if I could photograph him and here are the images that I got. Two of them are single panel and I am surprised at how acceptable they are.

I am going to close with a SONG that I heard recently on PBS of which has become my current Theme song because of the feeling that it gives me, every time that I listen to it.  Three girls on Gii-Tar and the effect they create is 100 times stronger than a singular North American Troubadour could produce.

Blog # 14 Mr. Mac AKA Mac the Knife's

Aniin,

A few weeks ago I began a new series, the HABERDASHERY OF MR. MAC. I had bought my back to school clothes there in 19 and 68 when he was located on what is now called BROADWAY PLAZA. He was located next to Sear’s. The last time that I was in his new Shop at 12th and Martin Luther King it was known as Hammer’ Apparel and I had bought a plaid Kensington short sleeve shirt.
I love the feeling that you get when you enter the shop because with all the inventory you feel that you are shopping at New York City. I walked out with a Fantastic buy on the Thickest, zippered sweat jacket that I have ever had.
I am ending with the SONG that explains how you will look when you shop there.
